When micro and nanotechnologies take to the skies, it means that the Micronarc Alpine Meeting season has arrived!
The 14th edition of the conference cycle was held in Villars-sur-Ollon, a small resort in the Vaud pre-Alps.
If the weather did not always allow to appreciate the view on the surrounding mountains, the seven or so participants coming from all over Europe were able to concentrate during two days on microsystems and their applications.
A dense program of presentations saw high-profile speakers introduce the audience to innovative projects and technologies related to micro manufacturing, notably through practical examples of watch complications, medical techniques, micro sensors and their various applications.
The future of micro manufacturing and new manufacturing technologies were also discussed.
During the breaks, a specific room allowed a dozen exhibitors to present their innovative technologies.
Micronarc Alpine Meeting offers of course conferences, but also and above all opportunities for exchange and networking between researchers, entrepreneurs and other professionals in microsystems. This is particularly the case during recreational moments. Thus, the participants did not depart from the tradition and went by cogwheel train to the Villars golf course to eat a raclette at an altitude of 1800m and prolong in a friendly atmosphere the conversations started during the day.
mAm 2023 was organized as usual by Micronarc in cooperation with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
